I’m good here. Sandy does look serious all of a sudden. I’m just happy I’m likely to get one more good rain before I have to start watering the yard. But it looks like y’all are likely to get more out of this storm up in New England than we are down here.
Why be scared of Hurricane Sandy when I deal with Hurricane Catherine every day?
Not sure who knows what so here’s a brief update on the child front. About a month ago Catherine realized she could climb out of her crib. She’d been capable of it for a few months but it hadn’t occurred to her to try it. Regardless, when she did climb out she did it so smoothly I didn’t even hear her do it on the monitor. So the crib became a toddler bed that afternoon. Now she’s learned how to work doorknobs, so there’s no rest for us when she doesn’t want to sleep. And she never wants to sleep. Thus I’ve got two longish posts in limbo.
They make covers for door handles that disallow opening by light fingered Cats:0). You have to squeeze them really, really hard to make the handle turn. Might be an option for you?
Lost a cat yesterday afternoon- as in- she was hit while crossing the road by a passing car. Thing is, i saw it and she kept running, made it as far as the door to the garage and i’ll just say- i made it to her in time to say goodbye.
Weird, too- as the neighbours put down their old mare yesterday, before Winter could steal what was left of her(she was emaciated due to age and toothless(ness). I’d just come from the pasture and Ivy had shitty timing.
Whoever coined ~timing is everything~ coined a truism. I console myself in the fact that it wasn’t a kid. A pretty close 2nd, though.
I think i’ve adopted the ~it could have been worse~ mantra because i am trying to convince myself. It’s true, none the less.
Reality is a bitter pill. Like the old song of Oneoneone ’cause you left me and twotowtwo ’cause… punk song by someone back in the 80s. I forget.
Sorry to hear about your cat. I had one get hit by a car (I think) last week. His magnificent tail is broken and hanging limp from the base. He seems to be fine otherwise but has lost weight. It’s amazing how cats can be so sensitive to disturbances around them but sometimes seem completely oblivious to cars.
