As my wife likes to say, everything is better with palm trees.

It’s impossible to look at a palm tree and be depressed. They’re so festive and silly-looking.

I see that you believe in circumcising palms in FL. Palms in public places or city property out here are trimmed, but some property owners don’t bother and so we end up with this sort of thing. That grey, dead plant tissue is not only unsightly, it hosts rodents, nasty spiders, and of course desirable wildlife too.
We don’t have any palms, but some neighbors do, and it took some effort to see it finally happen. Of course, most palm will reach a natural final height and so don’t need much trimming thereafter.

Sorry. I just had to gripe about something today. I’m in a fowl mood I guess. :)

We have hurricane force winds, and in wilderness areas we set fires which burn away the dead material.

Even if we left our palms unkempt (which I like the look of, for variety) they’d be covered in vines, so we’d never see them. A fig tree might even start growing on the palm and kill it.

The Florida beach experience in two photos. I especially love that second one, with all the angles and colors.

    Hope you feel rejuvenated!

Oh yes. I swam two or three times a day and even ran barefoot on the beach. My senses were putting down roots and it was hard to yank them out again.
